Internet Support

Troubleshooting

My internet is down.

Try these solutions to get your internet working again.

  1. If there are multiple devices and only one is offline, try turning the device off and then back on. If that does not resolve the issue, contact the device manufacturer for help.
  2. Reboot your modem. If you have a router, reboot that as well.
  3. Check if there is an outage in your area
  4. If you still don't have a connection, contact us.

My internet is slow.
  1. To check that your speeds through your modem are up to par, connect an ethernet cord from your computer directly to your modem (bypassing your router, if you have one) and test your speeds at Midco.com/Speedtest.
  2. If the internet works well on other devices but seems slow on one, try turning the device off and then back on again.
    • If your device is older, it may not be able to get the same speeds as newer devices.
    • If you have older devices connected to the internet, this may slow down your speeds on all your devices. Try disconnecting older devices and retest your speeds.
  3. Reboot your modem. If you have a router, reboot that as well.
  4. Make sure your equipment is up to date and Midco compatible.
  5. If you're still having slow speeds, contact us

If you use wireless internet, keep in mind that there are many different types of wireless interference. Because of this, it is common for speeds to be reduced by up to 50% when connected through a wireless device. To make sure you're getting the most out of your internet, check out these internet speed tips

The power light is off on my modem.

If your modem light is off, that means there is no power going to your modem.

  1. Check all the cables on the back of your modem. Make sure they are plugged in tightly, and make sure the power pack is plugged into the wall outlet.
  2. Try plugging the modem into a different wall outlet.
  3. If you still do not have power to your modem, please contact us for further assistance.

I cannot get on the internet, and the 'Online' connection light on the front of my modem is flashing.

  2. If you cannot get a connection, or you notice that you have to reboot your modem often, contact us so we can make sure your modem is functioning properly.

While browsing the internet, I see a "This page cannot be displayed" message.

This error means that the browser cannot find the page on the internet. This is caused by either not having access to the internet or by incorrectly typing the web address. If you are certain you have typed the web address correctly, reboot the modem. If you still get the error message, please contact us.
