Proximal50 Life Center is more than just a gym – it’s a total wellness facility. The modern steel and glass building on Bismarck’s busy Divide Avenue houses a clinic, physical therapy facilities, nutritional services – and yes, treadmills, weights and elliptical machines behind its curved brick façade.

Owner Tana Trotter attests that the fitness industry is incredibly competitive. Participants connect to a Bluetooth® heart monitor and then engage in a variety of circuit activities. Their heart rate and burned calories display on a large screen, so they know when to push a little harder, and when to cool down.

I'm not calling and talking to someone far away,” Trotter said. “There are people just down the street who are able to come and help me, and now I have faces to names – and I'm able to really have that partnership with them.”
