Midco Foundation to Donate $250,000 to Area Food Banks
Sioux Falls, SD – In a time when food insecurity is on the rise, the Midco Foundation is donating $250,000 to food banks in Kansas, Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota.
"Before the coronavirus, grocery stores and restaurants would send excess food to food banks. Those supplies have diminished, creating an even greater need for people who may have recently lost their jobs," said Midco CEO & President Pat McAdaragh. "We know our communities are hurting and wanted to provide money for what’s most important right now."
"Midco is concerned about the broader needs of society, particularly right now," said EVP & CFO Steve Grosser. "Providing money to purchase food for those in need is a small but meaningful way for Midco to give back."
The following food banks will receive donations from the Midco Foundation:
- Just Food – Kansas
- Ely Food Shelf – Minnesota
- Fairmont Salvation Army - Minnesota
- North Country Food Bank – Minnesota
- Second Harvest Heartland - Minnesota
- Second Harvest Northern Lakes – Minnesota
- Great Plains Food Bank – North Dakota
- Feeding South Dakota
The Midco Foundation is the philanthropic arm of Midco. Donations are accepted and awards granted twice a year. This $250,000 donation to area food banks is in addition to the bi-annual grants.
