MAYHEM IS EVERYWHERE®. For the few of you reading this who still watch TV commercials, the clever and seriously funny Allstate® Insurance character, MayhemSM, may come to mind.
You know, the beat-up looking guy who portrays all the disorder and chaos that could happen in our lives? He’s prompting us to take immediate action and get an insurance policy to protect us from all the horrible scenarios played out before our eyes.
I mention this hilarious TV ad to (1) hopefully make you chuckle a bit and (2) spark your interest to discover how data centers can offer your business peace of mind and protection from “mayhem” – among many other valuable benefits.
My organization works with businesses of all sizes, and I’m lucky enough to work with enterprise organizations with several locations, employees and customers. In some cases, human lives are literally on the line – as well as valuable time and money. Reliability and guaranteed peak performance aren’t just preferred benefits, they’re critical considerations for choosing an IT partner.
I’d like to share nine real-life reasons why our enterprise customers make the choice to utilize a third-party vendor for their colocation and data center needs:
- Gain peace of mind with state-of-the-art, environmentally controlled, secured facilities.
- Free up valuable internal employee resources and office space.
- Get customized, flexible and scalable rack and power options housed in a private or shared caged environment.
- Lock in fair, competitive pricing to match the value mentioned in #3.
- Secure access to direct network connectivity from a data center facility to an existing MPLS (private network).
- Gain redundancy with carrier-neutral facilities, allowing for network connectivity to other key vendors.
- Place servers – and business critical data – in facilities built to standards of the Uptime Institute.
- Diversify connections across multiple data center and enterprise facilities.
- Acquire a partner who focuses on building trust, drawing upon experience and committing to their customer’s long-term success.
When it comes to choosing where to house your organization’s critical data, my colleagues at Midco® and I genuinely understand that the decision isn’t easy and should never be taken lightly on whether to (1) move to a third party’s facility, (2) keep everything in house or (3) create a mix of both. The choice is yours – we’re just here to help guide you.
