Bringing the future closer.
We’ve committed ourselves to be a company of constant improvement – looking for, testing and implementing the newest technology to improve our products, our network and make us the best partner possible.
A large part of our plan includes our Fiber Forward® investment. This $500 million initiative will double our fiber miles to 22,000 and create a future-proof connection, preparing us and our customers for whatever technology emerges in the next decade and beyond.
We’re also upgrading our dedicated business MEF 3.0 certified multiprotocol label-switching (MPLS) fiber-optic network. By investing an additional $17 million, we’ll improve network capacity, decrease latency and jitter, and bring 100 Gig speeds to our business customers. This will give you all the power you could need to get your business done.

We start as the Welworth Theater Company, bringing the best in customer service while serving popcorn and putting the latest movies on the big screen.
A new venture.
We take the plunge into radio and TV in 1952 after purchasing a local station in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. We also change our name to Midcontinent Media.
Giving back.
The Midco Foundation comes to life in 1987. Since then, we have donated more than $5.8 million to support the work of local organizations in the communities we serve.
Investing in fiber.
We commit to new fiber technology and start building our ultra-reliable network in the 1990s, which now powers thousands of businesses across our five-state footprint.
Moving Fiber Forward.
In 2021, we announce our expansive $500 million investment in our robust fiber network and next-gen fiber tech to bring 10 Gig (10G) speeds to the region.
